Can wallpaper be applied to wood or MDF?

Yes, that’s definitely possible. We recommend lightly sanding the surface first, making it grease-free, and applying a primer. Then use a wallpaper primer and let it dry overnight to ensure better adhesion. Keep in mind that thin panels may warp slightly due to the moisture in the glue.

Important: If you wish to use non-woven wallpaper or MuralTex, please ensure that the wood or MDF does not have a plastic top layer. The wallpaper does not adhere as well to plastic and may come away.

In that case, we recommend using self-adhesive wallpaper. This type of wallpaper adheres better to smooth surfaces and stays firmly in place.
